Forest Education Program
We host over 500 students annually for hands-on forestry education, teaching the next generation about sustainable land management and career opportunities in forestry.
Our commitment to environmental stewardship guides every decision we make
"We don't just harvest forests—we nurture them. Every tree we take is part of a sustainable cycle that ensures healthy forests for our children and their children after them."— Daniel Humes, Founder
For every tree we harvest, we plant three. This 3:1 ratio ensures our forests grow denser and healthier over time, sequestering more carbon and providing expanded wildlife habitat.
Nothing goes to waste. Sawdust becomes animal bedding, bark is transformed into mulch, and wood chips fuel biomass energy. We find a purpose for every fiber.
We practice selective harvesting exclusively on our managed lands. This preserves forest structure, protects wildlife corridors, and maintains the ecosystem's natural balance.
Over 15,000 acres under our management are protected by conservation easements, ensuring they'll remain forested forever while still providing sustainable timber resources.
Our operations follow strict environmental protocols that go beyond regulatory requirements. Here's how we protect the land while providing quality timber products.
We maintain 100-foot no-harvest buffers along all streams and waterways, exceeding state requirements by 50% to protect water quality and aquatic habitats.
Our equipment operators use designated skid trails and landing areas to minimize soil compaction and erosion, preserving the forest floor ecosystem.
We identify and protect wildlife travel corridors, ensuring animals can move safely through harvested areas to access food, water, and habitat.
We schedule operations to avoid sensitive periods like nesting season and wet conditions that could cause soil damage.
Through reforestation, operational efficiency, and carbon accounting, we've achieved what few logging companies can claim—we absorb more carbon than we emit.
We host over 500 students annually for hands-on forestry education, teaching the next generation about sustainable land management and career opportunities in forestry.
Our quarterly community planting events bring together volunteers to plant native seedlings on public lands, parks, and school grounds. Over 50,000 trees planted through this program to date.
Partnering with state wildlife agencies, we create and maintain wildlife food plots, nesting structures, and habitat features that support biodiversity on managed lands.
Our sustainability claims are backed by independent verification from the world's leading forestry certification programs.
